Latch Card Fun!

Welcome Stampin' Friends!
So simple and fun! I just had to re-visit this technique. The "latch" embellishment actually holds the card closed, until you open it. We created this one at Lea's workshop and in a class with friends.
Possibilities are endless with the latch card! Changing up the colors, stamps, latch embellishment, direction of the card itself...tons of creativity!

Latch Card Recipe:
*Base is 5 ½” x 7 ½”
*Need 2 pieces of cardstock 3 x 5 ¼” (one for front stamping and one for inside message).
*1 piece of DSP measuring 1” x 5 ½” and
*1 piece of cardstock measuring 1 ¼” x 5 ½” to make the banner.

Create a latch embellishment any way you’d like. I used circle dies and Watercolor Wings to create the one on this card.

*Score at 3 1/4” and fold.
*With fold on left of Simply Scored tool, score at
3 3/8”, 3 ½” and 3 5/8”. These lines give the card flexibility to “move”.
*Stamp and attach the front and inside pieces
*Punch ends of the DSP and cardstock pieces for the banner. Adhere pieces to each other layering to give a border around DSP. Attach to card any length you prefer. Turn card over and cut off any of the banner hanging over card.
*Stamp and die cut butterfly to your liking. Attach circles to each other and then butterfly using dimensionals.
*When attaching your latch, be sure to line up to top and right side of card using dimensionals making sure not to go beyond the three score lines.
