Teacher Chalk Board Post-it Note Holder Tutorial

Base of card is 3 5/8” by 8 ½”. You get 3 bases out of one 8 ½ x 11 sheet of cardstock.

Base for the “chalk board” is 3 5/8” by 4 ¾ I stamped with our Woodgrain stamp(w) #128763 (c)#127808 instead of using the folder to emboss, because the card stock seamed to get to pliable and didn't stand up well.

Black piece of chalk board is die-cut from the 3rd square from the biggest (scallop one) in the Square Collection Framelits Die #130921 (measures 3 ¼ square).

For the frame around the black, I used, from biggest to smallest, I used the 3rd again and the 4th (2 13/16”) square die. On card stock, lay smaller die inside the larger one, line up straight, and run through the Big Shot. I was thrilled when it worked!

To create bottom legs of the "chalk board", cut with the 2" square framelit
Before assembling the black and the frame, stamp black card stock using White Craft Ink #101731 (Chalk Technique) and any stamp set you like and embellish. Attach chalk board piece to base using Dimenstionals.
Fun to make! Oh, the possibilities!

  1. How does this stand up?

    1. Hi! A pack of Post-it notes holds up the "Chalk Board" and the base is an normal easel card base scored on the long side at 5" & 6 3/4". Thanks for looking and making me aware that the full project picture was gone!

  2. Gwen …. I just happened across this post and thought how cute it was. My sister works at a school so this is perfect. I'm going to give it a try.
    Thank you for sharing.
